Well here we are, the unofficial start of autumn, with my son even going back to school this week. As such, this will be the last installment of The Summer Almanac series. It’s been fun to share an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at my weeks with all of you.
With the first crisp morning, summer and its memories seem to simply vanish and quickly feel far behind us as we send kids off to school again, pull out the last of whatever garden vegetables remain, and swap the short-sleeved wardrobe for sweaters. As we say farewell to the season, I wanted to wrap up this series by sharing a bit of our recent family vacation. It was our last summer hurrah, a long road trip to wrap the warmer months up with a bow before putting them away.
Next week, I’ll be sharing something exciting that’s been developing for my family and me, and launching a new series for paid subscribers sharing the details, so stay tuned!
Summer is fleeting, but the hot days (and the mosquitoes, my Lord, the mosquitoes!) seem to make autumn and its cool days such a welcomed arrival. Wishing you a happy start to the liminial season….
